When the grid fails, awareness shouldn't fail with it.
In January 2025, we lost all connectivity and fled the Eaton Fire with only the clothes we were wearing. When the grid failed, every tool we relied on failed with it. Without internet or cell service, reliable, hyper-local information disappeared almost instantly.
That night made the gap clear. We needed something that stayed online when everything else went dark. Something that didn’t depend on the cloud. A tool that could explain what was happening around us and help us stay connected to our community.
This belief led us to build Alta Edge — systems that sense, think, and respond locally. They are private, resilient, and designed to keep working even when power and connectivity are gone.
